The EPL Fit

After this World Cup I have to admit, I've become a bit of a soccer fan. Not only am I kicking myself for not taking an interest in it when I actually could have played (Donnovan is 5'8" and Cherundolo is 5'7"), but simply for not appreciating the game for what it is. It's really a joy to watch. No commercial interruptions and at most the game runs 2:15 and that's if there is extra time.

So I've decided to take a peak at the English Premier League to continue my love affair with Soccer. The trouble is, where do I start? I spent some time the other day looking at the teams and familiarizing myself with the league.

But how do you just pick a team to start rooting for? You never really remember how you became a fan of a team, you just did. Do you go with the Yankees of the EPL, Manchester United? Or maybe I give Wolverhampton because of my beloved Michigan Wolverines? I'm stuck.

I think I've narrowed it down to Everton or Fulham. Tim Howard, the USMNT goalkeep plays for Everton. But then, likely my favorite USMNT player, Clint Dempsey, plays for Fulham.

It's a quandary. One that I'm sure starting in August and after many early Saturday and Sunday mornings trying to catch matches will be worked out sometime in March.
