Quick Buck Thursday

Rivalry week went about as expected. QBT finished 3-2 because Bama choked down the stretch. And the CK Award flexed it's surly muscles and said,  "Really OSU bloggers? You want to tempt me." Poor Pokes. But all in all I'm always happy when I'm above .500 for the week.

This week, QBT takes on championship week. Which is exciting and frightening all at the same time. But the gambling much go on or so I'm reminded each day by my view of the Vegas strip.

Miami OH at Northern Illinois -17.5
Despite this line going up two points since open, I love the Huskies. We've been riding them all year long and I don't see why this week should be any different. They haven't lost in MAC play and haven't lost ATS since their first game of the season.

Auburn at South Carolina +5.5
Cam is eligible (which is an entirely different story that involves morals which wouldn't seem right in a post about gambling). And it looks like Garcia is going to be good to go. I like this game to be close. Auburn beat SCar in Auburn, where they're remarkably better, only by 8 points. Take out the 3 points for home field and presto we have a cover for the Gamecocks.

Florida State at Virginia Tech -4
People really seem to like the Seminoles in this game, but I don't see it. The Hokies haven't lost since JMU and in that stretch have only failed to cover once. I'll take that streak.

Nebraska +6 at Oklahom
I know Taylor Martinez will be limited in this game and they're going to do the two QB thing, but the offense isn't what makes me like this number. The conference losses by Oklahoma have come against the better defenses in the Big 12. Mizzou is #3 in total D and #1 in scoring D, with A&M as #4 and #3 in conference. Guess who is first in total D and second in scoring D? Yep, the Huskers. So we'll take the Black Shirts in this one.

Oregon at Oregon St +16.5
The Civil War. Oregon hasn't covered in the last three games and is 2-2 ATS on the road. This is a rivalry game and one where all Oregon has to do is win and they're in the National Championship game. I think the Ducks slip a bit and the Beavers keep it within two touchdowns.

For the year QBT is 15-29-1
