PS Bowl-A-Thon 2010: Update

Since there is a lull in the College Football schedule today, I thought it would be nice to take look and see how the Bowl-A-Thon picks have gone thus far. I'll look at the two sections that provide a prediction. The first is the Pool Prognosticators Pattern and the second is The Sweatpants Verdict.

As you may remember the Pool Prognosticator Pattern uses the logic followed by that girl in the office that has no clue about sports, but always seems to win your office pool. In some instances I've even channeled that girl with statements like "I LOVE HUGH JACKMAN". You know the one I'm talking about. Well in that section I'll analysis such this as colors, mascots, location and how nice the school is to their coaches. So far in 2010 the PPP is 15 - 12. Not bad for basis decision on the fact that you think "Joe Paterno invented football" or that "you had a great time in Myrtle Beach one year".

The second piece is the Sweatpants Verdict. This is where I actually look at the numbers and what I know of college football and make a prediction. I have included whether or not the team will cover, but for this piece I'm only concerned with whether or not I picked the winners. So far things are looking good as the Verdict is 18-9, which guarantees I'll finish above .500. Let's hope that wins me a pool or two.

Alright we've got seven games left in the bowl season. The remaining previews will be coming.
