Big XII - Week VII

Week VII
So, it's that time of week again where I put my knowledge of the Big XII to the test. Like the rest of the Productive Sweatpants team, I have proven I can pick the winner, but exact outcome of the game...not so much. I will continue my quest for the perfect weekend, however, until the season ends or I get it right. Now taking bets on which occurs first.
Week VI Recap

Biggest Surprises:
I really wasn't overly shocked by any of the outcomes. Oklahoma's domination of Texas should have been surprising after Texas' preseason success, but Oklahoma was out to prove that they will not play bitch to the SEC. They went out and put the Who-Dilly Shakes (patent pending) on the Longhorns and smacked them back to reality.  Mack Brown had better win out or he could be on his way out in Austin.
Other Week VI Recaps
The numbers in parenthesis were my predicted scores from last week.
Missouri 17 (10) - KState 24 (38): Kansas State is sneaky tough. Like their dominate years in the 90's, they're not flashy, so they don't get the press. But, they would be playing Oklahoma in the Big XII Championship game if the divisions still existed.
Kansas 21 (28) - Oklahoma State 70 (58): If they would have stopped this game at halftime, I would have been close. Seriously, does Kansas even send players out on the field when the other team's offense has the ball? They are certainly back to playing Jayhawk ball in Lawrence and I cannot wait for the Cyclone's turn at bat.
Iowa State 26 (14) - Baylor 49 (28): The Cyclones have done a good enough job hurting themselves with penalties and turnovers. This week, the refs joined in the fun with some pretty bad pivotal calls. RGIII's Heisman candidacy may or may not have played a role in Iowa State getting screwed. Not saying we would have won the game, but it certainly took some steam out of our engine. That being said, Baylor has a very good team, as I've been saying all year.
Texas AM 45 (40) - Texas Tech 40 (42): AM finally delivered. Of course, Tech is not exactly a top tier team, but a "W" is a "W" and I'm sure the boys in College Station will take it right now. Still not high on the Aggie squad, but a loss against Tech and the SEC may have reconsidered their offer.
Week VII Preview
Baylor (4-1) @ Texas AM (3-2) - Could somebody tell me why Texas AM is a 9.5 point favorite over a team featuring a Heisman quality quarterback? I have not been a big believer in AM all season long, and choose not to start now. Especially not with the way their defense has played against Arkansas and Oklahoma State.
Line - Texas AM -9.5    O/U 75
My bets: Take Baylor to cover and the Over. This will be a high scoring game.
Baylor 45 - AM 38

Iowa State (3-2) @ Missouri (2-3) - I haven't given credit to Missouri all season long. It's not because I don't like Missouri, It's because I hate Missouri. I hate their colors, their mascot and, their School of Journalism. But, I think they're going to win this game.

Line - Iowa State +15      O/U 55.5
My bets: I like Iowa State to cover and the Over
Missouri 35 - Iowa State 28

Oklahoma State (5-0) @ Texas (4-1) - The Cowboys will be the next team to put the Who-Dilly Shakes on the Longhorns. Normally, this would be under the Game of the Week banner, but I have decided to treat all of my Big XII games the same so there is no jealousies between the schools. We don't need any more defectors.

Line - Oklahoma State -5.5           O/U 64.5
My bets: Give the points, easily, and the Under
Oklahoma State 32 - Texas 21

Kansas State (5-0) @ Texas Tech (4-1) - High power offense (Tech) vs. brutal defense (KState). Defense wins championships, and in this case, the game.

Line - Tech -3.5  O/U 59.5
My bets: K-State has been a dog in their last three games and have been winners outright in each of them. Keep on, keepin on the Wildcats. I'm cautiously taking the under as well.
K-State 38 - Texas Tech 14

Oklahoma (5-0) @ Kansas (2-3) - I feel bad for Jayhawk fans. At least until basketball starts next month.

Line - Oklahoma -34        O/U 72
My bets: Oklahoma and the over.
Oklahoma 64 (most in the first half) - Kansas 21 (all in the second half)

Conference Rankings:
1)Oklahoma
2)Oklahoma State
3)Kansas State
4)Baylor
5)Texas
6)Texas AM
7)Texas Tech
8)Missouri (hopefully not for long)
9) Iowa State
10) Kansas
