Drake's Divination Week 13: Rivalry Week!

It's rivalry week in college football so there is going to be a lot of hate floating around. And we're hoping to capture a bit of that hate this week as each of us are taking a few of the rivalry games to feature in each of our posts. That means there won't be one GOTW, but several. But that's for later. Let's see how I did last week.

The Divination Record
This week
SU: 3-2
ATS: 3-2

SU: 43-17
ATS: 30-28

Week 13 Divination

The Apple Cup
(25) Washington (7-4, 5-3 PAC-12) @ Washington State (2-9, 0-8 PAC-12)
Friday 11/23, 3:30 pm ET, Fox
Line: UW -13.5

This isn't much of a series really. UW has dominated the Cougars 67-31-6, including the last three in a row. Since their loss to Arizona the Huskies have been on a roll, not only rattling off four wins in a row, but covering in each game. Rivalry games are hard to predict, but Sark and Leach have their kids going in opposite directions here. Stick with the hot team in this one.

Washington 31 - 13

The Territorial Cup
Arizona State (6-5, 4-4 PAC-12) @ Arizona (7-4, 4-4 PAC-12)
Friday 11/23, 10:00 pm ET, ESPN
Line: AZ -3

The Duel in the Desert! This is should be a good game and the line reflects that. Arizona has the edge in the series 47-37, but it's gone back and forth recently with the Sun Devils taking 6 of the last 10. For two first-year head coaches this should be a nice introduction to the game. That said, these coaches are familiar with one and another as Todd Graham was an assistant under Rich Rod at West Virginia. I think he finds a way to stop Carey and the Sun Devils get the upset.

Arizona State 37 - 35

The Game
(19) Michigan (8-3, 6-1 B1G) @ Ohio State (11-0, 7-0 B1G)
Saturday 11/24, Noon ET, ESPN
Line: OSU -3.5

You know my rule: I don't be on Michigan. So you'll have to take this pick with a grain of salt. Michigan leads the series 58-43-6 and broke a seven game Buckeye win streak last year in the Big House. But they haven't won in Columbus since 2000. On the year in the three games as a Dog, UM is 0-3 ATS. As a single digit favorite or dog, OSU is 4-0 ATS. Suspending who I am for this pick, I'd have to say that 3.5 isn't enough points. (please forgive me Bo!)

Ohio State 27 - 23

Idaho (1-10, 1-4 WAC) @ Utah State (9-2, 5-0 WAC)
Saturday 11/24, 3:00 pm ET, Game Plan/ESPN3
Line: Utah St -38.5

No rivalry game here. But I couldn't let the chance at seeing a perfect ATS season go by the wayside. It's senior day for the Aggies and that does make me a little nervous. But Idaho is 1-7 ATS on turf this season and 2-9 ATS overall. I don't think the Vandals will have much, if any offense in this game. The Aggies send their seniors (and gamblers) off on a good note.

Utah St 52 - 3

The Egg Bowl
Mississippi St (8-3, 4-3 SEC) @ Mississippi (5-6, 2-5 SEC)
Saturday 11/24, 7:00 pm ET, ESPNU
Line: Miss -1.5

The Battle for the Golden Egg! The Bulldogs have taken the last three games in this series, despite the Rebels leading it overall 60-42-6. I was a bit surprised to find that the Rebs are also 8-3 ATS on the year. And, interestingly enough, Miss St is 0-6 ATS when playing on 6 or less days rest the past two season. Those two things are enough for me to grant the Golden Egg to Ol Miss.

Ol Miss 30 - 27
