Quick Buck Thursday

Is your money burning a hole in your pocket too? Money can do that sometimes. But friends QBT is back to help you find a place to put all that burning money. I’m my consistent effort to hopefully upgrade you from Long John Silver to Red Lobster (Chedda Bay Biscuits, y’all!!!)

I’m going to keep with the unit system we had last year. So again, I’ll start with 20 units and assign an amount to each game I pick. That will help you gauge the confidence I have in each pick.

Let’s get to it and kick this season off right!

UNLV @ Minnesota -14 – 2  units
UNLV is 9-38-4 ATS in their last 51 road games. Minnesota is young but an improved program. Plus they are 7-3 ATS in their last 10 home games. Enjoy the first victory of the season.

Rutgers @ Fresno St -10.5 – 2 units
Fresno is going to be good squad this season. And Rutgers, weeeellllll… Long road trip to start the season for the Scarlet Knights. Not to mention Fresno is 13-3 ATS in its last 16 games.

Buffalo @ Ohio State -34.5 – 2 units
Poor, poor Buffalo. Am I upset that this is my first pick out of the gate? Maybe a little, but hell man this is going to be a blood bath. It doesn’t even matter that OSU is missing some guys. Urban is an assassin and he’s going to set the tone for the season in this game

Penn State -8.5 @ Syracuse – 1 unit
I know NV Nole always told us not to bet against Syracuse in the Dome. But these are programs going in different directions. PSU in year two with Bill O’Brien I expect them to improve more.

Northern Illinois +3 @ Iowa – 1 unit
Iowa is a dumpster fire. They hired a terrible Offensive Coordinator. NIU almost pull the upset last year at home and basically has their whole team back. Plus Lynch is a legit Heisman candidate in my book.

Bonus:
ULM/OU over 60.5

It’s early in the season and I’m feeling generous. So here’s a bonus pick. OU defense has been suspect. They got a fancy new QB and Stoops will want to get him plenty of reps. ULM is pretty turbo charged. Don’t be surprised if you see a total in the 80’s.
