Quick Buck Thursday: The REDAWNING

Monkies be shooting guns, yo!

Hey there! Yeah hi, it's me again. I know I know it's been too long, right?

When we last chatted, boy, things were great. And then I reviewed the results from Championship Week. Holy buckets. Do yourself a favor and don't click on that link.

That said, we still ended up at 45 units on the year. That's 25 units over where we started. And that my friends is good stuff. Therefore I felt I owed it to myself and all 15 of you to bring back QBT for another season.

Nothing different, same deal as last year. I'll make picks for the week, assign them a unit number, you bet it and send me half the winnings. Deal? Okay then. Let's get started.

Unit Roll - 45 Units

Tulane +6.5 @ Tulsa - 2 units
I love opening lines. They're always interesting. This line started out at -26.5. I know. Since then it's come back to earth and for good reason. Tulane, despite being on the road, returns more starters than Tulsa and was 9-2 ATS finishing the year last year. I'll take them to keep it close in the opener.

Colorado State +3 @ Colorado - 5 units
I'm sure there is some kind of name for this game. Like The Weed Bowl or The Legalized Cup or something. At least there should be. See how these two teams finished last year, I think the Rams avenge last year's season opener and steal one in Denver.

Georgia Southern +20.5 @ NC State - 2 units
Georgia Southern enters FBS poised and ready. Returning 15 starters from a team that finished the year beating Florida, they won't be lacking confidence. And, you can't tell me that NC State is better than Florida last year. 20.5 points is WAY too much.

Washington -17 @ Hawaii - 2 units
Norm Chow is on the hot seat in Hawaii. The program is really down. Chris Peterson enters his first season in the "The Big Five". Sarkisian left the Huskies in really good shape and I don't see Peterson letting that slide. He's a good coach with a good team. Don't worry about the flight, Peterson has taken teams to Hawaii before.

Utah State +6 @ Tennessee - 2 units
Three words: Healthy Chucky Keeton. I'm a little apprehensive with the Aggies only returning 8 starters, but Tennessee is, well, not so good. When you have a chance to take a Heisman Trophy candidate against a lowly SEC team, you do it. Chuckie!

The Baylor Bears Bonus Over Of The Week
Florida State @ Oklahoma State -Over 63
Easy. Returning Heisman Trophy winner against a defense that returns 4 starters. Both offenses finished in the top 15 in scoring last season. Should be a high scoring affair in JerryWorld.

The Bob Drake "I need another team for my 21 team teaser" Double Bonus
UNLV @ Arizona - Over 60
We all know what a Rich Rod offense can do. And no one knows what UNLV can do. But coming off their first bowl game in ages, despite the loss, I think has this program excited. UNLV isn't going to shut anyone down defensively. Look for a couple garbage time TDs by either team to put this over.
