Quick Buck Thursday: Never Give Up

Half the time I don't know what Cocker is saying, but he's just the best.

If you were trusting enough to head my advice on the bonus bits in last week’s article, then your weekend was likely a success.

If not; blame Western Kentucky’s inability to prevent the backdoor cover with a late game letdown and Mississippi State’s lack of first half production.

Whatever you do, don’t give up on me this early. Onward and upward, I always say.

Bank Roll: 95 units
Season record: 2-3
Bonus record: 2-0

South Florida @ Florida State -27.5 – 5 units
Nothing like an 8:30 am kick to start Saturday off right! Golson looked good in the opener and I expect the Seminole’s D to remain dominate.

Don’t let this number get to 28.5.

Army @ UConn -8 – 5 units
I know. I know. Never bet against the service academies. But Army is just soooo bad I can’t resist.

It’s not like UConn is a world beater, but they did win and cover last week. I got spooked and didn't bet against the Knights last week. I won’t make that mistake again.

Bowling Green @ Maryland -7.5 – 5 units
Bowling Green is on my early season “Bad Defense” list and confirmed it last weekend at Tennessee. I know this line has dropped from -9 since it opened, but I believe that is an overreaction to the Volunteers than a reaction to this game.

Hit this number before the sharps drive it back up.

Oregon @ Michigan State Over 67 – 10 Units
I was already convinced Michigan State’s offense would be their strength this season and we all know Oregon’s offensive record.

I saw firsthand from my seat inside Autzen Stadium the challenges Oregon’s defensive secondary has. I wouldn’t be surprise if this game goes over 100.

Marshall -3.5 @ Ohio – 5 units
Ohio’s offense is experienced and put up 45 last week on a hapless Idaho team. Marshall, however, is a step up in class from the Vandals.

I predict a close game, but also see value in this line. Nab it now before it goes up.

The Baylor Bears Bonus Over of the Week
Mizzou @ Arkansas St Over 58
Yes, I know both teams went under their totals last week, but Arkansas State ran into a buzzsaw in USC and Missouri played an FCS team incapable of holding down their end of the scoring bargain.

I don’t believe Mizzou’s defense is as dominate as it’s been so look for both experienced offenses to rebound this week.

The Bob Drake “I need another team for my 21-team teaser” Double Bonus
Western Michigan @ Georgia So Over 54
Yep. Both WMU and MSU are back in the column this week as over picks. My guess is this won’t be the last time either.

Both these offenses sling it around so 54 won’t be a problem.
